Empowering Vulnerable Women: A Three-Day Training for Professional Growth

From September 24th to 26th, 2024, professionals dedicated to supporting vulnerable women will gather in Seville for a transformative three-day Learning, Teaching, and Training (LTT) activity. Organized under the ERASMUS+ project “Orientation Activities to Support the Access of Vulnerable Women into the Labor Market”, the event is designed to provide actionable knowledge and tools for organizations that work with unemployed and marginalized women. The goal is to equip participants with the skills to better serve women facing challenges in entering or re-entering the workforce.

Day 1: Identifying Challenges and Setting Goals

The first day is all about introductions and setting expectations. Trainers and participants will gather to discuss the challenges faced by vulnerable women and define what vulnerability means in various social, economic, and cultural contexts. Through group activities, attendees will share their own experiences and stories, helping everyone to recognize common obstacles these women face, such as financial insecurity, discrimination, and lack of access to education or support.

This shared understanding will lay the foundation for the rest of the workshop, helping participants to connect their day-to-day work with the broader objective of providing meaningful support to women in need.

Day 2: Building Practical Skills

The second day shifts focus to the development of basic life skills essential for overcoming vulnerability. Participants will engage in practical exercises on budgeting, communication, problem-solving, and time management—skills critical not only for personal growth but also for fostering professional success. These exercises will be conducted in a hands-on manner, ensuring that participants can replicate the training methods in their respective organizations.

The group will also discuss how these skills play a vital role in helping women manage their lives and careers more effectively. This day is focused on actionable knowledge—ensuring that the participants leave with practical solutions they can implement immediately.

Day 3: Action Planning for Long-Term Impact

The final day of the training will emphasize reflection and future planning. After reviewing the lessons learned during the previous two days, participants will develop individualized action plans tailored to their specific work environments and the women they serve. This personalized approach will ensure that the knowledge gained can be effectively integrated into their daily activities.

Networking opportunities will also be a key feature, as participants will meet with local business associations, trade unions, and entrepreneurs. These interactions will open doors for future collaborations and partnerships aimed at enhancing job opportunities for vulnerable women.

Long-Term Goals and Expected Outcomes

The LTT activity in Seville is not just about theoretical learning—it is designed as a practical experience that helps participants identify effective methods for supporting vulnerable women in their communities. By the end of the training, participants will have contributed to the creation of a “catalogue of concerns,” an initial step towards a comprehensive handbook that will serve as a guide for daily work in this field. This resource will be developed throughout the duration of the project and made available to all stakeholders.

Moreover, the training is expected to foster stronger connections among participants, who will exchange insights and best practices to ensure that their work is aligned with the project’s overarching goals. The aim is to create a network of professionals dedicated to improving labor market access for vulnerable women, making a long-term impact on communities across Europe.
