The Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Seville (COCEMFE Seville), participated this Monday in the inaugural meeting of coordination of the European project ‘Orient2Work’ in the rural town of Vasto, San Salvo in Italy.

During the inaugural event, the team of COCEMFE Seville that travelled to the Italian town of Vasto, were received by the mayor Don Francisco Mena, and in turn, this opening session has had the participation of specialists, who have given outlines of the difficult situation and reality that addresses this problem of women belonging to vulnerable groups.

The aim of the project is to improve the counselling skills of professionals working with women in vulnerable situations in order to improve their socio-labour situation.

This training project is part of the strategic line that our organisation has been developing, the content of which is to optimise the performance of the professionals who carry out counselling work with users so that the latter can achieve greater autonomy by having the appropriate tools for their personal challenges in everyday life.

The conclusions highlighted at the event are: women with disabilities suffer a harmful impact with the aggravating factor of social exclusion due to cultural conditions, such as the traditional view of women in close relation to motherhood and external factors such as economic instability, the high rate of unemployment, job insecurity, among others.

Due to the above conclusions, during the event it was stressed the need to address these problems in a multidisciplinary way for a comprehensive solution in favour of this group, and the importance of continuing to strengthen collaboration between the different social agents, public and private organisations to achieve a feedback of the benefits that this project generates.
