COCEMFE Sevilla and the Town Council of La Roda de Andalucía meet to improve the lives of people with disabilities in the rural municipality.Through the European programme EU-RUDISNET

COCEMFE Seville and the City Council of La Roda de Andalucía met yesterday, in the Plenary Hall of the latter to specify actions within the European program ‘Network for the Social Inclusion of people with disabilities in rural areas of the European Union (EU-RUDISNET)’, developed by the Federation and co-funded by Erasmus Plus of the European Union.

The initiative, implemented by the Federation together with five other countries (Italy, Turkey, Slovenia, Lithuania and Germany), aims to create a European network to increase self-confidence, empowerment, rural inclusion, mentoring and leadership training for people with disabilities in rural areas of Europe.

The meeting was attended by the Mayor of the Sevillian municipality, Juan Jiménez Jiménez; the Councillor for Social Services and Equality and Culture, Carlos Paris Pachón; the Councillor for Tourism, Festivals and Celebrations, Gloria Maldonado Rivero, the Councillor for Health, Environment, Citizen Participation, Employment and Innovation, Josefa Valverde Luque; the president and secretary of the Association of Physically, Mentally and Sensory Disabled Families and Supporters of La Roda de Andalucía (A.D.I.R.A.), María Dolores Álvarez Sánchez and María Victoria Pareja Montero; and the president of COCEMFE Sevilla, Juan José Lara.
