COCEMFE Seville meets with the Town Council of El Coronil to discuss actions in its rural area.

COCEMFE Seville met with the City Council of El Coronil (Seville) last Friday in the Casa de la Cultura, to discuss actions of the European programme ‘Network for the Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities in Rural Areas of the European Union (EU-RUDISNET)’, co-funded by Erasmus+ of the European Union.

The initiative, implemented by the Federation together with five other countries (Italy, Turkey, Slovenia, Lithuania and Germany), aims to create a European network to increase self-confidence, empowerment, rural inclusion, mentoring and leadership training for people with disabilities in rural areas of Europe.

The meeting was attended by the Mayor of El Coronil Town Council, José López Ocaña; the Councillor for Local Development, Public Safety, Festivals, Tourism, Sports and Internal Affairs, Alicia Melgar Bocanegra; the delegate of the Association for Rare Diseases D’Genes Andalusia, Silvia García Castellanos; the secretary of the Coronileña Association for the Promotion and Defence of the Physically, Mentally and Sensorially Disabled Despertares, María Antonia Verdugo; and the president of COCEMFE Seville, Juan José Lara.

During the meeting, the representative of the Federation also visited the facilities of the association D’Genes.
