The Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Seville, COCEMFE Seville, will hold the third workshop of the European project Be A Volunteer at the headquarters of Inturjoven Seville, from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 of this month.
This workshop will be attended by 39 people from five countries of the continent, including 12 technicians and 27 volunteers.
The course will have the participation, as instructor, of the head of the Department of Volunteering, Leisure and Free Time of the Provincial Federation, Mr. Emilio Tortosa de los Reyes.
Among other topics to be addressed during the workshop will be the history of the origin and evolution of Volunteering and Voluntary Action, as well as the legislative framework that governs them, the types of volunteering that exist and also topics such as social and leisure activities carried out by volunteers registered within the programming of his department.
During the event, a video will be shown on the actions that the Provincial Federation has carried out in the past and which are still being carried out today, such as, for example, holiday trips to the beach, sporting and recreational activities, cultural days, among others.
We will have the direct testimony of some users with disabilities who have been able to enjoy the aforementioned services of the Provincial Federation, thanks to the support and dedication of the volunteers who have helped to make this a reality in favour of our group.
Another of the activities that will take place within the framework of the 3rd workshop, will be a Gymkhana, prepared by volunteers with disabilities in the facilities of the Maria Luisa Park and a dramatised guided tour of the Medieval Jewish Quarter, in the heart of the Andalusian capital, on Thursday evening from 18.00 hours.
It is worth remembering that the first two workshops were held in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, and Italy, specifically in Cagliari, Sardinia.
The purpose of this third workshop is to continue with what was started in Bulgaria and Italy in order to complete the training of volunteers in subjects related to the improvement of emotional, multilingual, digital, social, learning to learn, critical thinking and the development of proactive attitudes and the values that define us as an organisation: teamwork, initiative and creativity, adaptability, acceptance of diversity and active search for the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
It is important to highlight that the ‘Be A Volunteer’ programme is about empowerment, personal development and social inclusion of people with disabilities through voluntary actions. These experiences have a highly enriching meaning for people with disabilities, as well as significantly vital for the volunteer.
From COCEMFE Seville we firmly believe in the importance of people who volunteer, whose task is essential to continue caring for and helping other people with characteristics of vulnerability, especially those belonging to the group of people with disabilities who live in Seville and its province.
