COCEMFE SEVILLA PARTICIPATES IN THE MEETING OF THE BE A VOLUNTEER PROJECT IN BUDAPEST, HUNGARY.

The team of the European Projects Department of our provincial entity has participated last 18th and 19th March in the International Meeting of the European project ‘Be A Volunteer’, whose aim is to achieve a greater active participation in society and the improvement of the employability situation of young people with disabilities (18-30 years old) through their involvement in voluntary actions where they will acquire new knowledge and skills.

Nem Adom Fel Alapítvány (Hungary, Budapest) participated in this first meeting as project coordinator and host, as well as the partners EASPD (Belgium, Brussels), VVIF (Bulgaria), Associazione Diversamente Onluns (Italy, Sardinia), Step Forward Society Valandovo (North Macedonia) and for Spain, COCEMFE Sevilla.

It should be noted that the project is divided into several phases: the first phase consists of two actions, a research to identify examples of best practices in inclusive volunteering in our national environments and a survey through questionnaires on the training needs demanded by both the organisations receiving volunteers and by potential candidates to carry out such volunteering.

The second phase of this project consists of the creation of a training guide where the training deficiencies previously detected will be reflected, and its construction will be through a cooperative pedagogy, carrying out 4 workshops and will be distributed between July 2024 and January 2025, held in several European countries (Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary and Spain).

The third and final phase will be based on training and piloting, with the participation of 10 young people with disabilities together with other people as mentors throughout the process, which will take a total of 120 hours.

In short, in this first meeting held in the Hungarian capital, the main dates have been established for holding each of the subsequent coordination meetings scheduled, both online and in person, in addition to other planned activities of a training nature, participation of people with disabilities, among other aspects.

Thus, from COCEMFE Seville, we remain committed to teamwork with other social entities in Europe for the benefit of the whole group with disabilities in Seville and its province.
