On 6 May 2026, the Seville Provincial Federation of Associations for People with Physical and Organic Disabilities (COCEMFE Seville) hosted a focus group at its headquarters as part of the European Erasmus+ project POSITIVE – Wellbeing and Resilience in Youth Work for Social Change, which focused on analysing the wellbeing and resilience of professionals working with young people.
The event formed part of Study No. 2 of the project, which aimed to explore the extent to which organisations are prepared to become positive and supportive environments for their professional teams.
The meeting brought together technical staff, coordination managers from the various departments of COCEMFE Sevilla and representatives of the management team, creating a space for dialogue and shared reflection on the emotional and organisational challenges facing the sector.

During the session, key issues were addressed, such as the emotional impact of working with young people; the importance of leadership and internal communication; the need for safe and inclusive organisational environments; the prevention of stress and burnout; and the capabilities that organisations need to develop to better support their teams.
Throughout the discussion, participants shared real-life experiences relating to the emotional toll of work, the need to set healthy boundaries, the importance of professional recognition, and the value of having spaces for listening and support within organisations.
Proposals for improvement aimed at strengthening organisational wellbeing were also identified, including: improving internal communication and transparency; creating more opportunities for participation and reflection; strengthening training in emotional management; and promoting more collaborative and sustainable organisational cultures.
The discussion group was conducted using a participatory methodology based on open dialogue and collective reflection, enabling a range of perspectives to be gathered from both professionals and managers.

Through initiatives such as this, COCEMFE Seville reaffirms its commitment to building organisations that are more humane, healthier and better equipped to look after both young people and those who work alongside them on a daily basis.
