  • The President, Nieves Márquez, and the European Programmes Coordinator, Encarni Barrera, took part in the third transnational meeting of the project in Italy, where the final strategies for the development of inclusive educational tools were defined.

The Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Seville (COCEMFE Sevilla) actively participated in the third Transnational Meeting of the European project Mother Matters (MoMs), held on 16 July in the city of Turin, Italy. The event marked a key milestone in consolidating the final phases of this initiative, which aims to empower mothers with disabilities through innovative educational resources.

The meeting, hosted by the Italian project partner Istituto dei Sordi di Torino, brought together consortium members from Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Spain. Representing COCEMFE Sevilla were the organisation’s President, Nieves Márquez, and the European Programmes Coordinator, Encarni Barrera. Their participation was crucial in contributing expertise on disability, social inclusion and accessibility to the working groups.

During the meeting, partners carried out a technical and strategic review of the project’s main work packages. They assessed progress in the development of pedagogical content, defined dissemination actions, and analysed the quality results obtained to date. Key aspects of the project’s closure were also addressed, including financial management, optimisation of the official website, and planning of the final activities, such as the submission of the final report.

The Mother Matters (MoMs) project, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, aims to improve the wellbeing, autonomy and social participation of mothers with disabilities. To achieve this, inclusive educational tools are being developed for both the women themselves and the professionals who support them.

“Our presence at European meetings like this one is essential to ensure that the voice and needs of women with disabilities are included in all the policies and resources being designed,” stated Nieves Márquez during the event.

The meeting concluded with a Q&A session, the distribution of attendance certificates, and a working dinner, which served to strengthen the cooperative ties among partner organisations and reaffirm their joint commitment to the project’s goals.
