Be Happy in Life – First transnational coordination meeting in Istanbul

The Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Seville (FAMS-COCEMFE Seville) and 5 European organisations from Istanbul (Turkey), Sofia (Bulgaria), Maribor (Slovenia), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Lanciano (Italy), met on 8, 9 and 10 January in Istanbul to launch the Be Happy In Life project, co-funded by the Erasmus programme of the European Union.

The overall objective of the Be Happy in Life project is to identify the difficulties and needs faced by families living with and caring for people with disabilities, contributing to the improvement of knowledge and psycho-pedagogical skills of professionals working in the social and health fields. Innovative programmes and materials aimed at family carers will also be developed.

In this first meeting, in addition to the presentation of the different partner organisations, the basis for the design of a qualitative pre-research, as well as the methodology and contents of the coaching-based curriculum, which will design the strategy of the programme, was laid.

During the meeting an official dinner reception was organised where the Istanbul Provincial Director General of Health, Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, highlighted the important work of the project in contributing to the improvement of services for people with disabilities and thanked the partners for their contribution to the project.

The next transnational meeting will take place in Sofia on 11-12 April 2019, coordinated by the Values, virtues , Integrity foundation from Bulgaria.
