  • FAMS-COCEMFE Seville together with 9 organisations from Bulgaria, Italy, Turkey, Latvia, Portugal and Greece will launch tomorrow the Ready Women project, co-financed by the ERASMUS + programme of the European Union.
  • During the transnational meeting, the lines of work of the project will be designed and future actions within the project will be planned.

The Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Seville (FAMS-COCEMFE Seville) and 9 European organisations from Bulgaria, Italy, Turkey, Latvia, Portugal and Greece, will meet tomorrow 29th November at 10:00 am in the Civic Centre Las Sirenas, during which the project Ready Women will be launched.

This programme aims to offer new opportunities and innovative tools to women with disabilities, mainly those with physical, organic and sensory disabilities, to improve their qualifications, as well as their employability and integration in the labour market, by means of training actions oriented to new sources of employment and emerging sectors.

To improve the social inclusion of women with disabilities, it will be necessary to consider basic skills and transversal competences such as autonomy, self-leadership, proactivity, etc.

This will be possible mainly, in a first phase, through a training programme for education of professionals aimed at learning the appropriate skills and competences, to be included in a methodology and training programme that will enable women with disabilities to increase their employability levels and inclusion in society. In a second phase, the work team will run a training programme for women and support their access to stable and quality employment in new fields of activity (new technologies, administrative management of companies, customer service in tourist services…).

The added value of this project is to achieve social inclusion of these women who suffer double social discrimination, due to gender and disability, by improving their employability opportunities and social skills.

The participating organisations in this project coordinated by FAMS-COCEMFE Seville are Education and youth empowerment Society – EYES (Sofia, Bulgaria); Istanbul Gelisim University (Istanbul, Turkey); Associazione Eurokom – EUROKOM (Gerace, Italy); Ecological Future Education – EFE (Gulbenes, Latvia); Laboratório, Formação, Higiene e Segurança no Trabalho, Lda – PREVIFORM (Ponte de Lima, Portugal); European Regional Framework for Co-Operation – ERFC (Aegion, Greece); and Istituto dei sordi di Torino (Turin, Italy).
