The Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Seville (COCEMFE Seville) yesterday presented the services of the Office of Independent Living (OVI) in Seville to relatives of people with disabilities in the municipality of Bollullos de la Mitación (Seville).

The OVI is a new model of social care, where after assessing the needs of the beneficiaries, services such as personal assistance, physiotherapy, legal advice and accessibility, social care, occupational therapy, psychology or adapted transport, among others, are offered.

The president of the Federation, Juan José Lara, presented the programmes and services of the organisation, together with the person in charge of the OVI, Aurora García, who discussed all the aspects that make up the Office. Among them, the catalogue of services: service for the promotion of personal autonomy, training in health care, personal assistance (personal care, home, leisure, accompaniment), social care, information, guidance, advice (accessibility and legal advice).

The presentation was attended by the delegate of Social Policies, Equality and Citizenship of the City Council of Bollullos de la Mitación, Clara Monrobé; the representative of the COCEMFE Seville member entity, the Association for Inclusion (API), Pepe Fernández; and the representative of the Magnolia Foundation, Carola López.

The Independent Living Office is designed as a tool for people with disabilities to be able, within their usual physical and social environment, to develop their daily lives as independently as possible, with the help of occasional support. This is an initiative promoted by Andalucía Inclusiva COCEMFE and implemented by COCEMFE Seville in the province of Seville, thanks to the subsidy from the 0.7% tax allocation of the Personal Income Tax.

The results of the European programme ‘Be Happy In Life’ were also presented, of which COCEMFE Seville is a partner in its implementation and which is co-financed by the European Union.
