General Objective

To contribute to the social inclusion of people with disabilities by training 250 mentors specialised in supporting people with disabilities who are volunteers or who wish to become volunteers. This will be done by creating a user-friendly open source platform that can be used to train and match mentors and mentees in the future, with training materials in different languages that facilitate the provision of a quality mentoring service for people with disabilities (physical, sensory and/or organic).

Work packages and Activities

  • Report and focus groups for partners to better understand training needs.
  • Development of training materials, including a validation component and the use of non-formal methodologies.
  • Testing of the mentoring methodology, before improving the model and course material following feedback and then training 250 mentors across Europe.
  • Efforts will be devoted to the promotion and visibility of this new resource.

Results

TEAM IV will offer an online training course to develop and strengthen the capacity of individuals to act as mentors trained through a European mentoring programme for volunteers with disabilities to enable them to be active citizens and to develop their full potential. The online training package and platform will use non-formal online learning methodologies to train mentors. to train mentors. It will also have the capacity to match trained mentors with mentees across Europe.
